The Four Pillars of Energy Management to Help you with Stress, Resilience, Overwhelm, and Burnout

Welcome to my blog!

I am a stress relief and purpose expert here to offer guidance so that no one else will have to feel the way I have during my struggles with stress-related illnesses. I’ve learned, I’ve lost, I’ve gained, I’ve grown. Now let me use my training and certifications to lead you through this journey of self-care.

When I founded Marcie Walker LLC, I did so to focus on holistic wellness through brain-based coaching and body-centered hypnotherapy. My goals have always been to help people own their circumstances and take control of their lives by providing practical tools to relieve stress, stop suffering, and find solutions. I use the Four Pillars of Energy Management to teach resilience and help clients overcome stress and burnout.

What are the Four Pillars of Energy Management?

The Four Pillars of Energy Management are the cornerstones of creating sustainable life changes:

  1. Physical Health and Wellbeing
  2. Mindset/Mental Health and Wellbeing
  3. Emotional Health and Wellbeing
  4. Environmental Health and Wellbeing

Today I’ll dive into the first pillar – Physical Health and Wellbeing.

Pillar 1:  Physical Health and Wellbeing

The first of the Four Pillars of Energy Management deals with your personal physical health and wellbeing. Diet, exercise, sleep, and emotional regulation promote overall health and wellbeing. I know, I know…taking care of ourselves is often the most difficult thing to do when we have so many others to care for. But it is the first pillar for a reason!

The role of self-care

Self-care is the conscious act one takes in order to promote their own physical, mental, and emotional health. Self-care plays a vital role in the Four Pillars of Energy Management.

The mistake some individuals make is dismissing self-care as “new-age, hippy-dippy nonsense” because they believe it contradicts their image of what a “serious” leader looks like. For others, self-care may seem like a luxury they can’t afford. It’s essential to challenge these limiting beliefs by reframing self-care as an investment.

Investing in your physical health and wellness is only the beginning, and it can increase your overall productivity and effectiveness as a leader.

To start instituting this in your own life, I suggest taking these initial steps:

  • Start by implementing a self-care routine! There are many different ways you could practice self-care, but here are a few steps to take to get you started.
  • Beginning with a healthy diet, which is linked to better moods, higher energy levels, and lower levels of depression.
  • Exercise is the next step as it increases blood flow, boosts learning and memory retention which in turn leads to a more productive day.
  • Finally, getting more sleep by setting a bedtime reminder increases focus, improves cognitive function, creates a greater capacity for learning, and improves empathy.

Check in for my second blog when we’ll learn more about the second pillar, Mindset/Mental Health & Wellbeing.
